Solution for non disengagement of car clutch

09 Jan, 2025 2:43pm

Check the clutch oil level: For hydraulic clutches, insufficient oil is an important reason for the clutch not disengaging. Check if the oil level in the fuel tank is sufficient. If the oil level is too low, it is necessary to add specialized clutch oil in a timely manner. ‌

Adjust the free stroke of the clutch pedal: The free stroke of the clutch pedal should be kept within a certain range (usually around 15mm). If the free travel is too large or too small, it will cause the clutch to not fully disengage. It is necessary to adjust the clutch cable or push rod in the hydraulic system to ensure that its free travel meets the standard. ‌

Check the clutch booster pump: Failure of the booster pump can also cause poor clutch disengagement. You can try replacing the power pump with a new one to ensure its normal operation.

Check the wear of clutch plates: The wear of clutch plates is one of the important factors affecting the clutch disengagement effect. If the clutch plates are severely worn, they need to be replaced with new ones in a timely manner. ‌

Check the clutch pressure plate: Deformation and warping of the pressure plate can also cause poor clutch disengagement, and a new pressure plate needs to be replaced. ‌

Cleaning clutch: If there is oil or other impurities inside the clutch, it will affect the normal operation of the clutch. The clutch needs to be cleaned thoroughly. ‌

Replace the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder: If the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder leaks oil, it will cause the clutch to malfunction. Need to replace the master cylinder or sub cylinder with a new one. ‌

Check the separation lever: bending and deformation of the separation lever, loosening of the support, and other issues can also cause the clutch to not separate. It is necessary to check the height of the inner end of the separation lever. If it is too low or not in the same plane, adjustments need to be made. ‌

High gear starting method: Adjust the gear to high gear and use the traction of other vehicles or large vehicles to start the car. ‌

Human assistance and gear shifting techniques: When the gear lever is in neutral, start the engine to idle and manually push the vehicle forward, using the technique of clutch free gear shifting to switch gears.

Forced start strategy: When conditions are not met, you can try starting the engine first and then quickly shifting the gear to low for forced start.
